Evaluation Question 7

From looking back at my preliminary task and looking at what errors i made when creating it, i realised that there were man mistakes that i had not previously noticed.

The first example of this is that the diegetic sounds in the product, especially the backgrounds, were poorly blended and faded between the different shots. (0:04 - 0:08)

As some of the shots start to be recorded, the actors in the shot can be off cue, and fail to get the correct timing for when they enter the shot, speak, etc. This wasn't edited out which was another mistake made (0:16 - 0:17)

The first shot of the entire product shows one of the characters walk towards a door that he is facing until he reaches it. The next two shots still show him walking towards the door. This means that the first shot was too long and should have been edited  (0:03 - 0:08)

The diegetic sound that is heard in the background returns for two shots, because the door in the background is left open for more noise to come through (0:12 - 0:17)

When i saw my final piece once again, i noticed that i could make several improvements.

Transitions, selection and also choice of filters within our product is i clear sign of improvement in confidence in developing our product as well as the overall product becoming better as a whole. These are also good to use when making sequences from thriller genre.

The sounds, both diegetic and non-diegetic, are faded throughout the product far more smoothly and effectively (1:10 - 1:14)

The overall editing and directing of our product was much better as the actors had great timing and acting throughout the scenes

Overall, i have improved in areas such as:

Directing the product better, as i feel that i have improved in the whole making process

Making and adding effective titles that are also needed for the thriller aspect of our media product.
